Three beautiful couples in my life just welcomed little girls into the world. I was super excited to work on these boho bunnies with hand-dyed indigo linen, tassels and embroidered initials as gifts for them. I loved working on them so much, theres a good chance i may introduce them to my etsy store later this fall! here are some images of the three with detail shots and the bunnies hanging out in their new homes!
THIS WEEKEND I WAS FORTUNATE TO HAVE THE HELP OF A DEAR FRIEND TO PAINT THE MURAL FOR OUR PHOTO BOOTH BACK DROP WE WILL USE FOR OUR WEDDING. OVERWHELMED WITH ALL THE DIY PROJECTS I KEPT GIVING MYSELF, I WAS AMAZING AT HOW MUCH WE WERE ABLE TO GET DONE IN ONE AFTERNOON. I AM EXTREMELY EXCITED TO HAVE THIS UP FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY DURING THE WEDDING, AND EVENING MORE EXCITED TO CHECK IT OFF MY TO DO LIST!
I can not be more excited that one of my bestest friends from college is having a baby boy! Her- being a true Mainer, I sent her a package filled with woodland creatures including a bear and fish stuffed animal I made. I had so much fun with this, I may just have to make some more!
Friends of ours are expecting a baby girl this year and although Brooklyn has amazing children's stores, Justin and I wanted to team up and make something crafty. It was a little out of both our elements- me usually working in 2-D but we did it! With each house cut, painted and glued by hand, we were excited to get our mobile of houses to our friends just in time for their little one.
WHEN WE WERE UPSTATE RECENTLY, WE HAD PICKED UP SOME BEAUTIFUL PIECES OF MOSS TO MAKE A TERRARIUM. WITH THE HELP OF THE LOVELY LADIES AT TWIG IN BROOKLYN, WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE MISSING PIECES NEEDED TO MAKE IT COME TO LIFE. I'M ADDICTED!
It may be fall (one of my favorite seasons!), but I'm holding on to late summer just a little while longer. I picked up some dahlias at the farmers' market this past weekend then came home to mix them with a selection of zinnias, wild pokeweed berries, wild smartweed, wild grass, and herbs all from our backyard. they won't be around much longer but for now, the remnants of late summer are strong both inside and outside. I love arranging these varied textures and varieties of color, and creating a bouquet out of something wild.
Justin and I have always shared a love for traveling and ever since we took our very first trips, we make it a point to pick out an ornament we can hang on our Christmas tree. for this trip to the berkshires, instead of buying a souvenir we decided to make our own. On a walk through the woods of western mass, at camp becket where justin spent many summers, I picked up a pine cone and instantly saw the perfect tree ornament. i used a white gel pen to put the Camp Becket logo, along with the year so that we'll remember this amazing weekend for many holidays to come.
i Had a fabulous time finally putting our backyard to work for our engagement brunch this past weekend. We spent the entire weekend cooking and prepping everything from a pancake cake, flower ice cooler and a pennant banner made from justin's grandmothers handkerchiefs. So happy to have spent the day with our closest friends and actually work on some of the my wedding diy projects I have been filling my sketchbook with!
Justin and I had an amazing time in Maine, like always! We confirmed the field we will wed in, ate lobster rolls, danced on the beach, visited some chicken and I even had time to fit in a couple DIY projects! Granted, this trip was to start organizing our wedding, visit family and get in some engagement shots... Here are some of my favorites...
For the past couple weeks, I have been excited to get out some of my paints and get to work on decorating some Easter eggs. I made Justin and I for our Easter Brunch invite and then took some of my favorite Orla Kiely prints for others...And in case you have yet to try it- Peeps make amazing toasted marshmallows!
For the holidays, I made a travel book from our past big trips for our families and for Justin. I always enjoy making at least one DIY project to gift, so this year I looked to Artifact Uprising to make it happen. There site is super user friendly (esp with instagram photos) and the book itself looks clean and professional. It's now our new coffee table book! Here's the cover and a few of the pages I created for it...
